VOM has been a feed producer in Norway for 25 years, and over the years we have closely followed the development in livestock production. The increased focus on efficiency, sustainability and animal welfare has contributed to positive changes in both the feeding and breeding of production animals – factors that affect the nutritional content of the meat, and therefore also the raw materials we use.
As a natural consequence of this, we see a need to adjust the nutritional information on our products. Natural variations in the nutritional content of raw materials occur, but over time it is necessary to adjust the nutritional information so that it better reflects the current nutritional composition. Essentially, this involves an adjustment to the values for fat, protein and energy across our entire product range. It is important to clarify that these are numerical adjustments which do not involve a change to the recipes. Such adjustments are part of our ongoing quality work, to ensure that the product always maintains a good quality.
Premix change – optimal composition
We add a vitamin and mineral premix to our products to ensure a balanced nutritional profile. Although the inclusion rate is very low, the premix plays an important role in complementing the nutritional content of the raw materials. In connection with the above value adjustments, we have also made a change to the vitamin and mineral premix. Essentially, this change is an adjustment of the quantity ratio between already existing ingredients.
Transitional phase
There will be a transition phase during which the existing packaging will be gradually phased out and replaced by new packaging with updated values. The replacement will take place continuously, and the timing of the change will vary between our different products.
Updated product information with the current nutritional content will be available at all times on our website and from VOM retailers!
New and improved flavour – VOM HUNT
In combination with the above adjustments, we are also changing the recipe for our product VOM HUNT. The change involves the implementation of a new raw material – duck. A tasty and nutritious new addition that your dog will love!
New combination:
Meat, skin and bone, pork offal, eggs, chicken giblets, rice, salmon, minerals.
Why and is a super ingredient:
- Give a lot of energy – and has a high fat content which gives extra energy to active dogs
- Iron-rich meat – red meat contains more iron, which is important for the blood's ability to transport oxygen, and contributes to good blood health and better endurance.
- High palatability – especially important for hunting dogs that may be reluctant to eat

Production of the new prescription will be launched in late summer 2025. We will confirm the exact date in due course.
From now on, VOM Hunt will be produced with the current recipe (without duck).
