The production process

With us, everything starts with carefully selected, Norwegian animal-based raw materials, produced under strict requirements for hygiene and cleanliness. We must adhere to the same strict quality control and hygiene requirements as human food producers. In addition, we set very strict standards for ourselves throughout the entire production process – from the raw materials we purchase right through to the finished product arriving at our VOM retailers. We work closely with professionals to ensure your dog receives a complete and nutritious meal, while production is inspected by the Food Standards Agency to guarantee safety and quality.

Our production process preserves the good nutrition of the raw ingredients – meat, bones and offal are gently minced and mixed, without any heat treatment, to preserve all the natural nutrients. We do not add unnecessary fillers, colourings or preservatives. The result is a natural raw food made with Norwegian quality.

Norwegian raw materials – the foundation for quality and safety

All our animal raw materials come from Norway – it has always been this way, and it will always be this way. It is the raw materials that build our products, and therefore it is crucial for us that they are of the highest possible quality.

We have a close and trusting collaboration with our raw material suppliers and abattoirs to ensure the best ingredients for our products. We have strict requirements for all our partners, and together we have developed procedures that maintain quality at every stage.

Norwegian raw materials offer many benefits: they ensure both the quality of the food and the safety for your dog, as well as the sustainability of our products. Norway has strict requirements for food production, and these standards are followed and closely monitored. With a focus on good animal welfare, minimal medication and limited use of antibiotics, we can offer products made from raw materials that are pure, natural and nutritious. We encourage you to choose Norwegian products for both yourself and your dog!

This is how the raw ingredients become nutritious dog food.

Raw materials are sorted and frozen at the abattoirs before being transported by refrigerated lorry to our production facility in Trøgstad for further inspection. Every day we receive fresh raw materials, and after careful inspection and quality control they are stored in our freezer until production. Chicken is received fresh daily and used immediately.

When the raw materials are taken from the freezer, they are ground as frozen as possible to ensure optimal quality. All products follow a set recipe, where the raw materials are weighed to ensure the correct mixing ratio. During the mixing process, a vitamin and mineral premix is added. Even with a low inclusion rate, it plays an important role in balancing the nutritional content. The mixing process follows a fixed programme to ensure a homogeneous and consistent composition.

Our production staff have both professional expertise and extensive experience. All products are closely monitored, and we have established procedures to control all critical points in production. Each batch is recorded for full traceability, and we send routine analyses for the chemical and microbial content of both raw materials and finished products.

The finished mixtures are packaged on production lines for sausages, meatballs and Easypack before being frozen. Once the products are fully frozen, they are packed into cartons and stored in a freezer warehouse until distribution to retailers.

Finally, the products are transported by refrigerated lorry to our dealers. In the Østlandet region we have our own drivers on fixed weekly routes, while transport to the rest of the country is handled by external carriers.

Watch the historical video about our production.
