Team VOM
Lars Monsen
Lars Monsen, born in 1963 in Oslo, is a teacher by profession but has been a full-time adventurer since 1991. He has spent more than 5,000 nights in a sleeping bag, half of them north of the Arctic Circle in winter.
He has written around twenty books, created around ten TV series and given several hundred lectures. Lars now runs Femund Lodge, a course and accommodation centre based on simple outdoor living and leaving no trace.
Lars has had dogs all his life; he grew up with three Shepherds, but in the 1980s he got his first polar dogs. He began long-distance competitive dog sledding in 2007, and has since then competed in the Iditarod – the world's longest dog race – three times, as well as the Finnmarksløpet and Femundløpet many times. Lars is among the Norwegian dog sledders who has competed in the most long-distance dog races.
Since the start of his musher's career, Lars has collaborated with VOM dog food.

«"The good collaboration with VOM isn't just about the people being pleasant and trustworthy, but first and foremost about the product itself being top-class – that is, the dog food – and that's exactly what it is. It's one of the main reasons the collaboration has continued for all these years. I am convinced that the dogs have performed better because they have had the best food."»
