For us, it all begins with carefully selected, Norwegian raw materials from animal origin, processed in accordance with strict hygiene and welfare standards. We must meet the same stringent quality control and hygiene requirements as those set for human food producers.
Furthermore, we ourselves set extremely strict requirements for all aspects of the production process – from the selection of raw materials until the finished product reaches VOM's sales outlets.
We work closely with experts to ensure your dog receives a wholesome, nutritious and complete meal. Production is also monitored by the Norwegian Food Administration (Mattilsynet), which guarantees the product's safety and quality.
Our production process is designed to preserve the natural nutritional value of the raw ingredients. Meat, bones and offal are carefully ground and mixed, without any heat treatment, to preserve the natural nutrients.
We do not add unnecessary fillers, colourings or preservatives.
The result is a natural raw food for dogs, produced in accordance with Norwegian quality standards.

All animal-based raw materials we use come from Norway – it has always been this way and it always will be. The raw material is the foundation of all our products, and we therefore place the utmost emphasis on it being of the highest quality. We work in close and trusted partnership with our suppliers and abattoirs to ensure that only the best available raw materials are used in our products. We have strict requirements for all our partners and, together, we have developed procedures that ensure quality at every stage of production. Norwegian ingredients offer many advantages. Not only do they ensure the quality of the food and the safety of your dog, but they also contribute to more sustainable production. In Norway, strict regulations govern food production, and their enforcement is closely monitored. With a strong focus on animal welfare, limited medication and low antibiotic use, we can offer products made from pure, natural and nutritious ingredients. This is how the raw material becomes nutritious dog food.
The raw material is graded and frozen at the abattoirs before being transported by refrigerated lorry to our production facility in Trøgstad, Norway, where it undergoes further quality control. We receive fresh raw materials daily, which are carefully inspected and quality-tested before being stored in our freezers until production begins. Chicken, however, arrives fresh on the same day and is used immediately.
When the raw material is taken from storage, it is ground as frozen as possible to ensure the best possible quality. All our products are produced according to precise recipes, where each ingredient is weighed to ensure the correct proportions.
While the ingredients are being mixed, a special vitamin and mineral premix is added. Although its quantity is small, it plays an important role in ensuring the correct balance of nutrients in the feed. The mixing process follows a predetermined procedure to ensure a uniform and consistent mixture.
The production staff possess extensive professional expertise and years of experience. All products are closely monitored, and we have established clear procedures to oversee all key aspects of production.
Each production batch is registered to ensure full traceability. Samples are regularly taken from both raw materials and finished products and sent for analysis, where their chemical composition and microbial content are analysed.
The finished feed mixtures are then packed on special production lines into rolls, meatballs and Easypack packaging before being frozen. Once the products are fully frozen, they are packed into boxes and stored in freezers until distribution to retailers.
Finally, the products are transported by refrigerated lorries to our retailers. In Eastern Norway, our own drivers handle the distribution according to fixed weekly routes, while transport to other parts of the country is handled by external transport companies.
