Marit Beate Kasin
Marit Beate Kasin is an author, journalist, dog sled driver and dog trainer. She has a background as a political journalist with over 16 years' experience, and in recent years has specialised in nature and environmental journalism.
As an author, she has published several books. *Winterdance* (2016) describes her pursuit of long-distance dog sledding. *Best Together* (2018), in which Kasin was a ghostwriter for the NRK personality Maren Teien Rørvik for the series *Bølle to Bestevenn*, is about dog training. Kasin's latest book, Naturparadokset (2024), was nominated for the Brage Prize and explores the gap between our good intentions for nature and actual land use.
Marit Beate has completed the 1200 km long Finnmarkslopet seven times and her best results are the 2016 National Championship gold in long-distance dog sledding, and an overall victory in the Finnmarkslopet in 2017. She is particularly known for her good animal welfare and her close bond with her dogs. Together with her wife, Carla Susana, they run the kennel Vinterdans. They have chosen a life close to nature, with their dogs as faithful companions and the mountains as their home.

«We have been using Vom and dog food since we started dog sledding in 2008. VOM is rich in protein and fat – all from animal-based raw materials. It gives our dogs natural energy, good health and well-being, both in everyday life and on the longest runs.»
